Download the It’s Carrboro Rap Video!

It is here! The It’s Carrboro video is yours for the viewing! Watch it on this website or at YouTube. (If you go to the YouTube site, feel free to rank it 5 stars. I’m sure higher ranked videos get watched more.)

If you want to get it for your iPod, you can download it here. Fresh.

Having problems with the iPod download? Yeah, some browsers don’t yet know what a “.m4v” is and so they try to display it as text. What you want to do is download it to your disk and then try to open the file you just downloaded.

Here’s what you do: If you have a mouse with more than one button, Right-click on the link to get a menu and select “save to disk” (or something along those lines). If your mouse has only one button - Mac users, I’m looking at you - click on the link and hold down the mouse until the menu pops up. Let the file download to your computer. Then try to open the file you just downloaded with Quicktime.

[…] That’s right! I saw it Monday night at Flicker, and it looked really great. And now it’s out on the interweb so that you too can see yours truly bebopping about in his finest black-haired wig and red corduroys. Enjoy! […]

[…] If you havent heard the amazing new rap song “It’s Carrboro,” you have been missing out. now you can watch It’s Carrboro: the video! I am in it but you wouldn’t notice. And really it does just fine without my obvious presence . But if you want to catch me, freeze the video at 2:10 (I am on the left) and at 2:26 (in the back). […]

I just shit myself! This just made me shit myself! It’s lavender mauve and has capers and fava beans poking through and it’s wadded up in my jumpsuit like a lava ball. Chapel Hill is your pappy and he boned your paregoric mama Durham to produce you, you runtlet gorflings, but I’m glad you’ve been able to assert “wild and kooky” notions about anxiety. The shit is cold on my calf. The recognizable place names and people make my son happy, however, and that’s a plus: a specific sense of “home as whoopass.” He has made me really detest your video by playing it ad nauseum into the sickly early summer heat. If I had a concern it would be that you forgot to mention the truly baffling fuckers who ride their bikes on two lane roads and act like they own your soul: if you hit them it’s your fault even if they drive like asspigs and yet, oh yes, Carrboro is a “Bike Sanctuary”. Get some bike lanes, bee yatch. Obladonkey. Hope you’re not cursed with no criticism—this be critichrome and may ring. Home is Okey Day!

Ohh, so that’s what y’all were doing hanging out in costume on the Weaver St. lawn. And all this time, I thought you were a new set of hula hoopers.
Nice video! My friends and I are loving it.

My friend (a UNC alum) who now goes to school in Oregon sent this to me late one night to give me a break from studying. I currently live on Fidelity St… this video is the awesomest thing I’ve ever seen. I grew up in Fayetteville, I’ve lived in Durham, and I go to school in Chapel Hill - but my favorite place to be is Carrboro. Thanks for putting together the only song/video I think could ever do it justice!
